Sewaholic cambie dress

Hi guys, so I have been meaning to make this dress for ages now and I have finally done it i'm pleased to say! I love this dress and the fact that nothing went wrong while I was making it adds to my fondness of it. It even has pockets! The instructions were simple and easy to follow and I will definitely be purchasing more sewaholic patterns in the future.  You can check out the website here.

I made this dress in a plain pale yellow cotton and I added a lining to stop it from being too see through. I would love to make this dress again in a printed cotton at some stage, I think the pale yellow made it feel too much like a little girls dress but then I only picked it because I was on a budget. Anyway it shows up my holiday tan nicely :)

Another reason why this dress is so great is that it could be adapted fairly easily to create different looks and I can imagine it would look great in any colour including a little black dress for the winter. I can even see it being adapted into wedding dress, probably owing to the sweetheart neckline.

Well thats it for now folks, I will be trying harder to update my blog more often, finding the time has been tricky lately with so much going on. I still have a whole list of projects I want to do and patterns in my collection that haven't been touched yet not to mention the books, ahhh the many books. Hopefully later this year I will be doing a pattern making course which means I will be able to design my own patterns, wouldn't that be awesome! hears hoping.

Until next time...
